We are currently recruiting for a Chartered Building Surveyor to join our leading and well established Project and Building Consultancy team.
This position will be Glasgow based, with the successful candidate being an important part of our Central Belt team, who operate from our Glasgow and Edinburgh offices, across Central Scotland and beyond.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a high quality and successful market facing team and help both manage and develop our instructions and ensuring excellent outcomes for our clients. This role offers the opportunity for you to work with a great team, and to learn how to be a first class building surveyor.
The role is ideally suited to someone with an ability to work on their own initiative, be willing to take on responsibility and manage your time well. You will possess excellent IT and communication skills, along with a valid driving licence. Project and Building Consultancy is a substantial part of the Ryden business and the opportunity for the successful candidates to work as part of multi-disciplinary teams within Ryden, will also be a key feature of the role. We are seeking MRICS Qualified Building Surveyor candidates and will likely suit newly qualified level with the opportunity for career progression and development.
Qualified MRICS Building Surveyor Position Overview & Requirements
- Previous Building Surveying experience
- Work in an autonomous capacity in the Project and Building Consultancy Team; per the divisional expectations. Ability to prioritise conflicting workloads
- Contribute towards department financial performance targets
- Liaise with other departments and divisions
- Represent Ryden and the full range of property related services available to clients & ensure clients expectations are delivered
- Assist the Associates and Partners in servicing internal and external based clients
- Handle tasks delegated to maintain and improve professional standards
- Involvement of all aspects of commercial building surveying work from, dilapidations, design and contract administration, defect analysis, technical due diligence and all forms of building surveys.
- Willing to listen to guidance and instructions
- Computer Literacy, specifically in Microsoft Office, MS Project and AutoCAD
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written whilst contributing to our existing team. Presents a professional image dealing with clients and demonstrates self confidence
- Ability to work under pressure alongside and reporting to Partners / Associate Partners/Senior Surveyors, and be a positive contributor to fun and invigorating workplace and business. Be highly organised and willing to travel, based on the geographical area we cover.
