James is an established building surveyor with over 23 years of professional experience. He is a Partner and Head of Building Consultancy within the Glasgow team, having joined Ryden in 2025 following the investment from Lambert Smith Hampton, where he led the Building Surveying division across Scotland.
A highly regarded and reputable senior leader in the field, he possesses extensive knowledge and experience in delivering comprehensive Building Consultancy services including Project Management, Contract Administration, Technical Due Diligence (TDD), Dilapidations, PPMs, Building Reinstatement Cost Assessments.
James is NEBOSH qualified, a member of IOSH and an RICS qualified Expert Witness having undergone the RICS accredited DRS training.
James' long-standing career is a testament to his commitment around leadership, high standards of excellence, enabling him to provide sound professional expert advice and direction for clients.
