Hugh Munro
Business Rates Consultant
Hugh joined Ryden as a Busiess Rates Consultant at the start of 2026 after working for the Glasgow City Assessors Office for over 40 years, the last 14 years until 2021 as the City Assessor.
This responsibility entailed the valuation of 27,000 non-domestic properties for Rating purposes, and over 300,000 houses for Council Tax purposes.
He has authorised many Practice Notes for the valuation of various property types for the Scottish Assessors Association, and was chair of the Commercial Properties Committee.
Since retiring from the Assessors, Hugh has practised as a consultant in rating matters.
