Socially Conscious Capital / Wemyss and March Estate
Planning adviser for proposals to expand the village of Longniddry (East Lothian) by some 450 new homes along with the renovation and reuse of a listed farm steading. This involved the successful promotion of the site as a residential led, mixed use allocation in the emerging Local Development Plan, followed by preparation and negotiation of a major planning application underpinned by a masterplan. The Planning Permission in Principle application was approved in June 2017.
Kingsway East, Dundee
Secured Planning Permission in Principle for a major, mixed-use masterplan proposal on a former industrial site on behalf of I&H Brown and Lidl. The proposal comprised food retail, pub restaurant, coffee drive-thru, car showroom and other traditional employment uses. The site was subject to a long-standing employment allocation within the local planning policy framework. Developed a planning strategy to overcome this legacy allocation, which combined market demand and supply analysis with a planning justification centred on the promotion of commercial uses as enabling development.
Forth Valley NHS Trust & Bellsdyke Consortium
Provides planning strategy advice and implements key planning initiatives (local development plan promotion and planning applications) in relation to the ongoing redevelopment of the former Bellsdyke Hospital, Falkirk. Coordinating the production of a major, mixed-use masterplan proposal on land previously allocated for employment use.
CALA Homes (West)
Leading a team of consultants through the process of developing a major, residential-led masterplan for a 48 hectare greenfield site near Falkirk. The proposals envisage circa 1,000 new homes with associated works, community infrastructure and commercial facilities. Delivered a masterplan for submission to the emerging LDP which balances the client’s aspirations for large scale residential use with the needs of the local community and includes key features and physical constraints of the itself.
