Douglas joined Ryden’s growing licensed & leisure team in 2016. He has over 26 years of experience in the leisure trade sector, holding previous posts at Enterprise Inns, Mitchells and Butlers and Punch Taverns.
He has extensive experience in estates management.
Integral member of the capital expenditure team, responsible for identifying appropriate investments and subsequent financial planning as part of an annual £60m capital expenditure programme.
Responsible for completion of all rent events, including lease renewals, rent reviews and new lettings. Managed the firm’s property portfolio, including all leasehold disposals and provided general estate management advice.

Advised a range of clients within the licensed sector including Enterprise Inns PLC, G1 Group, British Waterways, London Town, Admiral Taverns and Scottish & Newcastle Pub Co (now Star Pubs and Restaurants).

Led a team of surveyors, responsible for setting and negotiating all rent events throughout the south east of England. He was an integral member of a team that was responsible for converting over 900 licensed premises from managed operations to tenancy.
