Hillington Park, Glasgow

  • Brought in by Oaktree/Patrizia to provide advice on the acquisition of Hillington Park which formed one of three assets in the £430m Hermes business park portfolio.
  • Hillington is Scotland’s premier business park, comprising c. 186,000 sq.m. of industrial and office accommodation together with 27.5 hectares of development land.
  • The park offered the opportunity for new development in an improving industrial market with a fundamental shortage in supply. It has the unique combination in Scotland of a range of prominent development sites with simplified planning zone benefits.

Rose Street, Edinburgh

  • On behalf of Standard Life Investments and Joint Properties we sold a mixed-use city centre investment in the prime stretch of Rose Street in Edinburgh to Hazledene House for £8.9m.
  • The investment comprised three buildings providing 11 retail units, 7 floors of office space, a bar/nightclub and 28 car parking spaces.
  • It was a complex instruction requiring close liaison with two clients and two sets of solicitors. Our investment team also worked closely with our management team to ready the investment for sale and with our agency team which was securing new tenants for the vacant space.
  • Following a successful marketing campaign the team set a closing date for competitive offers. Numerous proposals were achieved at the closing date which was a fantastic outcome, particularly as the marketing campaign and sales process straddled the European Union Referendum.
