Aberdeenshire Sites

  • Areas in and around Aberdeen are still in very high demand with housebuilders and the difficulty can be securing planning permission for the developments.
  • We’ve secured Local Development Plan allocations for an 885 house site at Laurencekirk, 150 houses on a site in Turriff and a first tranche of 35 houses at Drumoak for a variety of local housebuilders and have more projects coming through.

Abbeyhill, Edinburgh

  • We advised the owners of two adjoining industrial buildings, a former car showroom and an electrical wholesaler on a site of c. 1.95 acres, on redevelopment options.
  • Having considered a proposal for student housing we concluded that the recovering market for residential apartment developers was the best target from both a value and planning risk perspective. 
  • Following a restricted marketing campaign and multiple bids we concluded a subject to planning deal with Bellway Homes. 
  • We advised the client throughout the complex planning application and on the agreement of abnormal development costs that resulted from this brownfield site.
  • The sale was completed in 2016 and Bellway is constructing 138 new apartments.
