Andy is a highly experienced Chartered Surveyor with a significant track record of success as an Estates Manager gained from within the Brewing and Licensed Premises industry. He deals with licensed and leisure properties across Scotland advising on acquisitions and disposals.
Since joing Ryden in 2008 Andy has built up a Licensed & Leisure department with a strong client base.
Andy has also been involved in the Licensed Trade Consultation Group for the last five rating revaluations. This group is involved in making representations to and negotiating with the SAA with regard to the proposed valuation scheme for licensed premises.
As a result of the Punch acquisition of Allied Domeq Inns assumed temporary responsibility for the lease/tenancy operations in Scotland after the retiral of the Scottish Leasing Director until after the integration of the former Punch Taverns and Allied Domeq Retailing estates.
As regional estates executive was responsible for the overall property function including investment and refurbishment strategy and implementation with an annual budget of c. £5 million. Other duties included the implementation of the company's lease renewal, rent review and disposal programmes.
Provided a survey and valuation and advisory service to the Free Trade Sales department in respect of proposed secured trade loans to licensed trade customers. This included the valuation of all types of licensed premises, including public houses and hotels, and also the marketing and disposal of repossessed and surplus properties.
