Ryden Appointed by City of Glasgow College

28th August 2014

Ryden has won a major contract with City of Glasgow College to market and dispose of five surplus sites across Glasgow. The college will move to its new campus in the summer of 2016.

The firm’s advisory and project management specialists will develop a detailed strategy for the college’s portfolio which includes the North Hanover Street and Cathedral Street properties, as well as buildings at Florence Street, Rogart Street and Dornoch Street.

Ryden’s extensive experience in public sector estate helped the firm to secure the appointment.

New partner Craig Tenant is project lead.  He said: “This is a significant win for us and an interesting challenge.  These properties present a range of complexities as we are dealing with four listed buildings in key city locations.  The expertise of our agency and investment colleagues, planners and project management specialists will ensure we meet our client’s objectives to maximise the disposal value for these surplus properties.”

Sub consultants Arup, Cooper Cromar, Mappin Consulting and Storrier and Donaldson will support Ryden on advising the City of Glasgow College.

This latest contract win for Ryden is through the firm’s membership of the Regional Agent Partnership (RAP) which was formed with Sanderson Weatherall, Alder King, Harris Lamb and Budworth Hardcastle. Sanderson Weatherall, as lead contractor, was appointed as a supplier to Government Procurement Service (GPS) RM928 Estates Professional Services Framework in 2013 and Ryden is appointed for this commission through this framework.
