Closing date set for former Police HQ in Glasgow

13th July 2015

Ryden has launched the marketing of the former Strathclyde Police headquarters at 173 Pitt Street, Glasgow.  A closing date for offers of 12noon on Wednesday 23rd September 2015 has also been set in light of the “significant interest” being shown in the site.

Police Scotland appointed Ryden last month to dispose of the buildings following its recent relocation to a purpose built facility in Dalmarnock.

The property consultant has now devised a disposal and marketing strategy in order to secure the best value for the site.  A stage 1 closing date has been set in September and thereafter the firm will carefully assess the interest received before inviting a limited number to submit a detailed proposal.

Commenting on the level of interest received already, Mandy Watson, Head of Public Sector at Ryden, said: “With buildings totalling 190,000 sq ft across a 1.371 acre site, this is the largest commercial development opportunity to come to the Glasgow market for many years.  I’m therefore not surprised that we’ve received so many enquiries ahead of formal marketing.”
