Ryden has been awarded a major contract to prepare a masterplan and planning applications at the 23-acre site of the former Murray Royal Hospital in Perth for NHS Tayside.

The contract, which will commence in early October will involve extensive consultation with key stakeholders such as local community organisations, Perth and Kinross Council and Historic Scotland.  Once a masterplan has been agreed the firm will aim to submit planning applications in March 2014.

Ryden’s extensive experience in public sector estate, particularly for the NHS, helped the firm to secure the appointment.

Marc Giles, Partner at Ryden said: “This is a significant contract for us as we are dealing with a major opportunity site currently occupied by a number of listed buildings.  We anticipate substantial public interest in the project which offers the opportunity to deliver a high quality development in a stunning landscape.”

This latest contract win for Ryden is through the firm's membership of the Regional Agent Partnership (RAP) which was formed with Sanderson Weatherall, Alder King, Harris Lamb and Budworth Hardcastle.  Sanderson Weatherall, as lead contractor, was appointed as a supplier to Government Procurement Service (GPS) RM928 Estates Professional Services Framework earlier this year and Ryden is appointed for this commission through this framework.

The win is a milestone, being the first contract awarded to a RAP member through the GPS.
