Mandy Watson has been appointed as head of public sector at Ryden.

Previously an associate, Watson has 11 years’ experience of working with a range of clients such as Glasgow City Council and Irvine Bay Regeneration Company.  She brings a great deal of experience to the newly created role and will strive to enhance Ryden's service and grow its public sector client base.

Watson has just secured a high-profile mandate with Police Scotland to dispose of its Pitt Street site in Glasgow City Centre.  Her team is also involved in the disposal of the City of Glasgow College surplus property portfolio.

She said: “The public sector needs advisors who can maximise their returns and our latest client survey told us that they want to be advised by Ryden.   I’m thrilled to be able to respond to this and look forward to growing our business in this specialist sector".

Bill Duguid, managing partner, said: “We have been advising the public sector over a wide range of issues for many years and we are pleased to be enhancing our service by appointing Mandy to head up the team and drive business in this area."

Ryden works for 20 of Scotland's 32 local authorities (63%) and is regularly winning new work in the sector.  The City of Edinburgh Council has just appointed the firm to its commercial and residential property consultancy frameworks, and Aberdeenshire Council chose Ryden as its external contractor to provide services in professional, agency, consulting and building surveying.
