  • Secured a reduction in rateable value from £112,000 per annum to £61,500 per annum on the 2005 Rating List. This represented a 45% reduction in value.
  • Secured reductions on several other properties in the client's portfolio including a reduction from £63,000 to £58,000 at 41a Central Way, Andover and a reduction from £152,000 to £139,000 at Hallamfields Road, Ilkeston.
  • Also acted for the client on the 2000 Rating Revaluation.

  • Negotiated savings of over £400,000 in rateable value after carrying out rating appeals on the University’s various buildings.
  • Secured a backdating of the savings to 1 April 2005, the year of the previous rating revaluation.  This enabled the University to make funds available for the development of future educational facilities.

  • Secured a reduction in rateable value from £2 million per annum to £1.9 million per annum on the 2005 Rating Revaluation. This represented a total saving of £500,000 in rateable value over the five year revaluation period.
  • Also acted for the client on the 1995 and 2000 Rating Revaluations.

  • Non domestic rates saving of £468,000 over a three year period to 31st March 2007, as a result of an application made under Section 24a of the Local Government Scotland Act 1966.
