The largest new hospital under construction in Scotland, due for completion by 2010
Client: NHS Forth Valley (NHSFV)
  • Advised on strategic options and potential sites for the new hospital and evaluated these to produce a preferred site.
  • Obtained outline planning permission for the new hospital to allow a Private Finance Initiative (PFI) developer to be appointed.
  • Advised on key issues to be addressed in PFI delivery of new hospital.
  • Represented NHSFV in their negotiations with Falkirk Council on a Development Framework for the site of the new hospital and surrounding land owned by the Health Board.
  • Advised on the discharge of planning conditions and Section 75 legal obligations.
  • Arranged preparation of a Management Plan for the residual site.
  • Negotiated the long term management of woodland through a public sector body.
  • Developed a strategy for the restoration of listed buildings on site.
  • Providing advice on future development potential linked with the new hospital.

Implementation of Estates Strategy

Client: University of St Andrews
  • Advised on the rationalisation of the University’s current academic, research and student residence developments.
  • Providing consultation on the Western Expansion Area, the largest mix-use development in St Andrews.
  • Advising on negotiations on policies affecting affordable housing, student accommodation and houses in multiple occupation.
  • Providing submissions on the structure plan and the local plan.
  • Advising on planning appeals, public inquiries and disposal strategies for properties and land.
  • Assisting in disposing of properties and investing in new academic developments and student accommodation to replace existing facilities.

 

Lochrin Square

Development of 8,562 sq m of office buildings
Client: Scotmid & Gladedale Capital
  • Assessed planning potential of existing site.
  • Assisted in the selection of a joint venture partner for the new development.
  • Worked with the partners to secure planning consent for two new Grade A office buildings.
  • Obtained forward funding for the development from Credit Suisse EuroReal.
  • Provided marketing advice on the new development.

  • Prepared outline and reserved matters planning applications for new Musselburgh campus.
