Marc Giles

Marc was appointed to the Ryden partnership in 2011. He is an experienced town planning consultant of over 20 years and has a successful track record for delivering high profile and complex development projects. His experience spans all aspects of land use planning and strategy representing a range of landowners, developers and investors promoting residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-use schemes. He also acts for the public sector and in particular a number Scotland’s NHS Trusts providing and implementing planning strategy advice.

An active member of the RTPI, Marc is involved with Homes for Scotland, sits on the Planning and Development Committee at the Scottish Property Federation and on an ad hoc basis advises Scottish Land and Estates in planning policy matters.

PROJECTS:

Wemyss and March Estate - Longniddry, East Lothian Advisor to the Wemyss and March Estate for major, residential-led expansion proposals. To date permissions have been secured for 450 new homes and redevelopment of listed farm steadings for use as a local centre.

Knight Property Group – Bellshill, North Lanarkshire Delivering a major industrial, logistics hub comprising circa 250,000 sq/ft floorspace.

NHS Forth Valley - Former Bellsdyke Hospital, Larbert Retained planning advisor to Bellsdyke Consortium regarding the redevelopment of the former Bellsdyke Hospital. The current masterplan has delivered circa 1,700 new homes and a local centre.

Pentland Park Marine Ltd, Loanhead Retained planning adviser managing the delivery of a PPiP for a major, mixed-use commercial masterplan anchored by an Aldi.

John G Russell (Transport) Ltd – Leith, Edinburgh Delivering a major residential-led, mixed use redevelopment comprising 285 new homes across industrial land within the central Leith waterfront area.

CALA Homes (West) – Larbert, Falkirk Responsible for the delivery of a major, residential-led masterplan of circa 1,000 new homes across a 48 hectare greenfield site.
