Ryden Breaks £50k Mark for Maggie's
Ryden is celebrating three years of supporting Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres by announcing it has raised a total of £52,835 for the charity.
During the three year partnership, staff have biked and hiked across the width of Scotland in 24-hours for Maggie’s Monster Bike & Hike, sponsored and taken part in Maggie’s Life Walks, baked cakes (and eaten them!) and organised quiz nights, competitions and raffles. A unique golf event in Arran was also set up, involving a team of eight playing the island’s seven golf courses – 93 holes - in 24-hours, with a tee off time of 3am.
Gemma McDonald, Corporate Manager for Maggie’s, said: “The support that Maggie’s has received from Ryden has been truly outstanding. The staff seem to have endless energy and are always ready to take on a challenge and to have some fun. £52,835 will cover the costs of well over 1,000 visits to one of our centres. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Ryden for their continued support.”
Gemma added: “When I look at the list of what Ryden has done for Maggie’s I think it highlights how positive corporate fundraising can be – there are challenge events, there is fun and there are plenty of opportunities to introduce ideas and team-building exercises.”
Fiona Morton, Managing Partner of Ryden, said: “This has been Ryden’s first official charity partnership and it has been a great success. In the last three years we’ve had great fun raising a tremendous sum for our chosen charity. We are proud to support Maggie’s and the work this fantastic and worthwhile charity does across the country.”
