Ryden Tees-off £5,500 for Maggie’s
06 July 2010
Ryden has raised over £5,500 for Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres after two teams of golf enthusiasts from the firm went head to head in a challenge to complete Arran’s seven golf courses (93 holes) in 14 hours.
The challenge saw George Beattie, Brian Ronnie, Tim Bunker, Gus Stewart, John Smith, Bill Marley and Ken McInnes tee off at 3.30am to take on three 18-hole courses, three 9-holers and a unique 12-hole course.
Brian Ronnie, partner at Ryden, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the support that we received from friends, family and colleagues and extremely grateful to everyone who pledged their support to a worthy charity. The event was fantastic fun and we managed to complete the rounds by 5.30pm, despite the attack of the midges at Whiting Bay, a deer at Lochranza and the outbreak of mediocre golf on Lamlash.”
Maggie’s Centres help anyone affected by any type of cancer, including friends and family of sufferers. They offer everyone who walks through their doors the highest level of emotional and psychological support. This year they will be helping even more people, and as the need for Maggie’s Centres grows so does the determination of all the staff there to make sure that they can offer their programme of support to anyone
who needs it.
