Context Interiors to Open at Cockburn Street

Edinburgh’s award winning independent retailer, Context Interiors, is set to open its second boutique store at 42-44 Cockburn Street, Edinburgh.
The retailer has taken an assignation of the 639 sq ft unit from Beyond Words bookstore, which is closing down, at a passing rent of £17,600 per annum. Context Interiors paid a premium of £5,500 for the leasehold interest.
Will Biggart, surveyor at Ryden who acted on behalf of the proprietor of Beyond Words, said: “This letting is further evidence that good properties on favourable terms continue to be in high demand. The fact that a premium was paid for the lease strengthens the interest for areas such as Cockburn Street.”
