Ryden acquires new premises for Campbells Prime Meat following fire in Broxburn

14 August 2009

Ryden has purchased a food processing factory near Falkirk for one of Scotland’s most famous fresh food wholesalers, Campbells Prime Meat.

The firm has relocated to the £6 million facility after a fire at its previous premises in Broxburn resulted in its demolition. Over 300 jobs have been safeguarded following this move.

The property acquired is situated near Whitecross, just 6 miles from Falkirk, and is just 3 years old.  It is now known as The Heather Field, Lathallan by Linlithgow and extends to a total of 5,203 sq m (56,000 sq ft) on a site of 17 acres. The site is 20% larger than their previous premises, providing Campbells Prime Meat room for expansion in future years.

Following the fire in Broxburn a comprehensive property search was undertaken and although a number of possible options were available to Campells Prime Meat, there was no doubting that ‘Heather Field’ was by far the best solution for the company. The site is ideally situated for the company to service their clients throughout Scotland, having immediate access to Junction 4 of the M9 motorway.

Campbells Prime Meat was formed in 1971 and is famous for supplying fresh meat, fish and delicatessen produce to hotels, restaurants and catering companies and boasts top chef Martin Wishart’s Michelin starred restaurant, Turnberry, Gleneagles and footballing giants Rangers and Celtic as its customers.
