Regeneration Agency Contract Win for Ryden

21 April 2010

Ryden has won a competitive tender with Riverside Inverclyde URC to provide building consultancy services for their property portfolio in Greenock.

Riverside Inverclyde took ownership from the local unitary authority of two industrial estates and two office buildings in the town last year.  Ryden has been employed to maintain and improve the buildings in order to create modern business spaces that will attract new commercial tenants to the area.  The Riverside Inverclyde portfolio encompasses Lynedoch Industrial Estate, Drumfrochar Industrial Estate, Victoria House and Lyle House. The industrial estates extend to approximately 94,000 sq ft. Victoria House and Lyle House (office premises) extend to approximately 9,000 sq ft and 3,500 sq ft respectively.

Ryden will carry out inspections, procure tenders, handle contract administration and undertake the management of planned maintenance works for the properties.  The firm had previously conducted pre-acquisition surveys for other buildings on behalf of Riverside Inverclyde during the transfer from local unitary authority ownership.

Norrie Dickson, Senior Surveyor at Ryden, said: “We have worked with Riverside Inverclyde from the beginning of this project and are delighted to be selected to take it forward to the next stage.  Ryden works in partnership with a number of the URCs in Scotland, including being appointed the property advisor to Clyde Gateway earlier this year, and we share our expertise across our clients in this sector.”

David Martin, Property Surveyor at Riverside Inverclyde, said: “It is really exciting to be working with Ryden to take forward another part of the regeneration of Inverclyde. These improvements will help to deliver top quality business accommodation to the market, and I’m sure they will prove to be very popular.”
