Edmonstone Estate in Edinburgh on the market
25 August 2010
On behalf of a private client, Ryden has been instructed to sell three sites on the Edmonstone Estate at Little France in South East Edinburgh.
Planning consent for a 100-bed care home has been obtained on the first site of 2.7 hectares (6.7 acres). The second site, extending 4.1 hectares (10.1 acres), has permission for the development of a care village consisting of 128 one, two & three bedroom apartments, four close care units and a village centre of between 3,500 – 5,000 sq m (37,674 - 53,820 sq ft).
To the east of the estate, Ryden is marketing 12.39 hectares (30.69 acres) of land fronting The Wisp and to the east of Edinburgh’s Royal Infirmary. Commenting on this site, Roy Durie consultant at Ryden said: “whilst this site is within the masterplan development area, it is not allocated for development so the most likely use is for agricultural, livery or recreational use.”
The sites are on the market for sale and are available individually or as a whole.
Mr Durie added that this was one of the largest development areas to come on to the market in Edinburgh for a considerable time.
