New opportunities for Renfrewshire homes market
22 March 2011
The opportunity to create a new residential neighbourhood in Paisley has been unveiled by the Cart Corridor Joint Venture Company. The six acre site has the potential to hold in the region of 70 new properties and forms part of the Cart Corridor regeneration project, which is being delivered by global property group Goodman. With excellent links to both the town centre and the M8 motorway it is hoped the new development will be snapped up as the housing market gains ground once more.
Goodman’s Regional Development Director in Scotland, Niall McGilp, said this latest development was another step towards realising the vision for the area:
“The Paisley Cart Corridor has been identified as strategically important, linking the town centre and Glasgow International Airport. Recent major capital investment in the nearby Westpoint Business Park, which is also part of the master plan, has already created high quality office space and attracted new jobs to the area, with further phases planned. The whole character and environment of the area is changing for the better and this is a great time to get involved.”
Ryden Property Consultants have been given the go ahead to market the site. The plot for sale is a 5.77 acre area of land bound by Springbank Road and Fullarton Street. Partner at Ryden, Russell Rutherford, said this was a great opportunity for a developer to come forward and help to shape a new era in the town’s history:
“The land is ideally located near to existing communities in the North of Paisley and already has established infrastructure and roads, making this a straight forward project to get started on. A development brief has been prepared by the Renfrewshire Council, and no affordable housing or exceptional developer contributions will be pursued by the Council. We think it’s an attractive site with great potential and we hope to attract a lot of interest as we take the sale forward in the weeks to come.”
