St Columba’s Hospice Acquires Manor House

27 November 2008

St Columba’s Hospice (with Ryden acting) has been successful in acquiring Manor House at 17 Boswall Road in Trinity, Edinburgh together with the adjacent development site.    Whilst the price paid was not disclosed, it is understood offers in excess of £2million were being sought.

The hospice plans to develop new care facilities at the property.

The house, which is almost adjacent to the main hospice, was jointly marketed by Rettie & Company and Simpson & Marwick.  It is an impressive B-listed seven-bedroom house built in 1830 with extensive gardens and spectacular views across the Firth of Forth.  Adjacent and inter-communicating with the main house is a three-bedroom apartment.

Solicitors firm Tods Murray is also advising St Columba’s Hospice. .
