Ryden Secures Kenmore's EPC Contract
19 June 2008
Ryden has won a major instruction to produce energy performance certificates (EPCs) for Kenmore Property Group's 1.25 million sq ft Scottish property portfolio.
The firm currently manages 31 properties in Scotland for property developers and investors Kenmore, including: Standard Buildings, Hope St, Glasgow; Almondview Office Park, Livingston and Airside Industrial Estate, Aberdeen, and has the detailed information required to produce the certificates.
EPCs are required by landlords to meet obligations set out in EU legislation on energy performance. Kenmore’s Asset Management Team has taken a pro-active approach to the new legislation and is ensuring that all their buildings are fully compliant well in advance of the required timescales.
Gregor Martin of Kenmore said: “EPCs are a good prompt to commercial property owners to health check their portfolio and ensure that they meet the needs of modern occupiers and investors. Ryden were the natural choice for this instruction given their knowledge of the properties through our existing management contract and, perhaps more importantly, their ability to call on in-house resources to deliver a project of this scale."
Ryden managing partner Fiona Morton said: “Owners and occupiers are now realising that they can’t risk put off getting an EPC for much longer and those that are pro-active will avoid the last minute rush when the legislation comes into force early next year.”
Ryden became the first multi-disciplined advisor to offer EPCs to the commercial market when it launched the service in February 2008.
