NHS Acquires New Hospital Site

Ryden, acting on behalf of NHS Lothian, today announced that the Health Board has acquired a 16.48 acres (6.67 hectares) site at Mayshade South, Eskbank Road in Bonnyrigg, Midlothian. The site will be developed for a new 88-bed Midlothian Community Hospital to replace existing facilities at the Loanhead and Rosslynlee Hospitals. The vendor, Grange Estates, was paid a price in the region of £750,000.Roy Durie, senior partner at Ryden said it is expected that the new £15.5 million hospital will be opened at the end of 2009.
