Ryden Wins EDI's EPC Contract

28th March 2008

Following the launch of a new service at Ryden in February, the firm has won an instruction with property developers and investors The EDI Group to produce Energy Performance Certificates, initially for four properties in its portfolio.  EPCs help landlords meet obligations set out in EU legislation on energy performance.

EDI has prioritised four of its thirteen groups of properties for an energy performance assessment.  Certificates will be produced for Dolphin House, EDI’s 7,500 sq ft headquarters at Hunter Square, as well as the 22,300 sq ft first phase of Ratho Park, Pennyburn Road in Kilwinning, a recent development providing 20,500 sq ft of office space and industrial units at Peffermill.

In addition to complying with statutory requirements, EDI will use the certificates to assist in the triple bottom line reporting as part of their end of year accounts.  David Kelly of EDI said: “As part of our remit as a responsible landlord we are keen to show that we are constantly improving energy performance within our portfolio.”

Ryden managing partner Fiona Morton said: “As Scotland’s first multi-disciplined advisor to offer an EPC service to the commercial marketplace, we were delighted to win our first instruction.  We have also given fee quotations to a number of high profile firms and look forward to winning more work in this field.”
