City House Bought for £14.6m
8th December 2006
City House, one of Leeds' largest office buildings, has been bought by Kenmore for £14.6m. The property is about to undergo a 15-month refurbishment and be back on the market again by summer ‘08, bringing 117,000 sq ft of space to the market. The property is currently occupied by the Highways Agency, and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, which will vacate in March 2007. Kenmore, in a joint venture with Modril, currently owner of the property, will restore the 14-storey property to Grade A specification.City House is Kenmore's initial foray in to Leeds. The property, being above Leeds’ railway station, presents a number of unique obstacles, such as retaining access to the station while works are ongoing. Ryden acted for Kenmore in the acquisition. Sanderson Wetheralls acted for Modril. Ryden has been retained as joint letting agent on the refurbished space.
