Ryden has sold a large industrial development site to Upland Developments Limited. The site totals 18.45 acres and is situated on Cliftonhall Road, Newbridge, West Edinburgh. Neil McAllister of Ryden has commented that: "Eight offers were received at the closing date which is recognition by developers of the scarcity of good quality land available for industrial development in West Edinburgh. There is also very little existing second-hand industrial accommodation available and rental levels for good quality buildings are now between £6.50 and £7.50 per sq ft."Upland Developments has secured planning consent for 267,000 sq ft of accommodation and intend to press on and commence the immediate construction of 60,000 sq ft Phase 1 which will be divisible into units from 5,000 sq ft and upwards.Upland Developments will also be offering design and build packages for companies with larger requirements in the area. The original quoting price for the land was offers in excess of £150,000 per acre.
