UK's Greenest Building
Leeds officially has the UK’s greenest building after Innovate Property’s office scheme in the city received a 87.55% BREEAM ‘excellent’ rating, the highest awarded so far. The 46,000 sq ft property sits within Thorpe Park, a 270-acre business park. It was built by Innovate and regional development agency Yorkshire Forward. It features systems that reduce water consumption, sewage discharge and the use of artificial light. Leeds University - which plans to take space in the building - will monitor the property’s performance. The scheme will operate as serviced accommodation and launches next month.
